This unit explores human movement, determinants of muscle strength; body dimensions and composition and work efficiency. There is a focus on types of work - positive, negative, dynamic and static. Bioenergetics - aerobic and anaerobic metabolism are key concepts of this unit along with cardiovascular, pulmonary and neuroendocrine adaptations to exercise. Causes of fatigue, evaluation of physical performance and fitness, factors affecting performance; life span changes in physical performance; gender differences; exercise and health will be investigated as part of this unit of study. -- Course Website
